Who would have known that this gorgeous actress, Drew Barrymore, who almost has everything, turns out to have a “not so good” relationship with her mother? “I am okay with my dad, but my mom and I have yet to work it out,” she says of her mother, Jaid, in the October issue of In Style. “I don’t talk about it because … how do you talk about something you’re confused about?’’. Well maybe this personal issue of her could turn out to be a big help in her career especially with the roles she is playing in her movies or shows. Like in her Emmy-winning HBO Grey Gardens, which is based on the life stories of the eccentric aunt and first cousin of Jackie Onassis, raised as Park Avenue debutantes but who withdrew from New York society, taking shelter at their Long Island summer home? Maybe the issue she has with her mother helps her to become the character she portrays.
However, despite of the success that she is enjoying right now, she somehow also thinks of leaving everything behind. “Maybe I’ll just travel as a tourist and leave this whole business behind to wander,” she says. “I love my life. I really do. However, there are moments I battle with it. Some days I want nothing more than a brilliant mask so I could look like someone else and go wander the streets and be free. I’m very peeved Halloween only comes once a year.” Maybe this fame and fortune does not make people like her completely happy. Otherwise, she would not be saying such things.  At least she has her partner Justin Long, to accompany her in all her aspirations. Clearly the two are enjoying each other’s company. Recently when they went to an authentic Indian dinner at Brick Lane Curry House in New York’s East Village, reports said that the couple walked in without any reservation made and went unrecognized. They skipped desert and left a sweet impression on the staffs of that restaurant.
